Friends of VisPa are taking to the hills once again in another hike challenge this May to raise awareness for the work of VisPa in Kenya.
Last year a group of willing volunteers hiked 100k in 3 days around the north coast of Northern Ireland. The money they raised was enough to build a new dormitory for the boys at the orphanage at VisPa. This dorm replaced the previous tin building which was in bad condition and too small to house all of the boys (photo below shows some of the hikers and builders outside the new dorm).
This year’s challenge will be set in the Mourne mountains as hikers attempt to climb Slieve Donard and walk 50k in the surrounding countryside.
