The construction of the Girls’ Dormitory should be complete by the end of July. The funds raised from ‘Walk your age in a day’ and ‘The Vispa Coastal Cycle Challenge’ will go towards furnishing the ground floor of the dormitory – beds, bedding, basic furniture. The pictures below show the front and back elevation of the Dormitory. It is on the same site as the Secondary School , about 100 yards from the school building.
There are 28 rooms on the ground floor, and each room will be home to four girls, and we hope that from October the rooms will be available for the girls.
The Dormitory will be life changing. It will provide safety (they will stay and study in the dormitory), sanitation (the middle section of the dormitory contains private showers, toilets, facilities for washing clothes, and sanitary provision), light (electricity), and will create a culture of mutual support and confidence .
